There is a difference between the Word, The Truth in the Word and the Wisdom of the Word. However, if you are in the world you will believe that you are not supposed to buy the word of God. However, people purchase the Word of God when they buy a bible. Then when some come to give clarity on the bible they just purchased, they don’t invest in the one who brings the wisdom and instruction that give understanding in it. So the world has it backward.
Bibles should be given out and the ones providing the wisdom and instructions that give understanding should be the ones you give to. Therefore one does not ‘buy the Word.” Because when one comes with the wisdom of the Truth found in that Word, they also bring understanding. We are not to buy the Word, we are to buy the Truth in that Word and not sell it. We are to also buy wisdom, instruction, and understanding. Anyone can have the Word, but unless you can discern where Satan hides in it, you will lose everything. Therefore it’s one thing to want the Word of God for free because that is what we are supposed to do. However, the Truth found in the Word is another matter.
King James Bible Proverbs 23:23
Buy the truth, and sell it not; also wisdom, and instruction, and understanding.
Purchase truth, but don’t sell it; store up wisdom, instruction, and understanding.
Proverbs 17:16
Why should the fool have money in his hand with no intention of buying wisdom?
Proverbs 4:7 The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
