The Fraud of Gold and Silver

There have been stories posted about gold and silver falling in churches, about oil flowing from church walls, feathers, and fragrances flowing through church buildings, etc. Are they from God? I doubt it. Why? Because God doesn’t operate that way. People are always looking for signs of God’s presence. But what most are missing is that only unbelievers look for signs.

Matthew 12:38-39
Then some of the scribes and Pharisees said to Him, “Teacher, we want to see a sign from You.” But He answered and said to them, “An evil and adulterous generation craves for a sign, and yet no sign will be given to it but the sign of Jonah the prophet;

So how does Satan work in using gold and silver to contaminate the Word of God? He uses our desires to lead us away from the true Word. God does not tempt us. James 1:13When tempted, no one should say, “God is tempting me.” For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone;…using gold and silver to lure you into a church is no different from teaching the unholy prosperity gospel. God doesn’t use unholy methods to get you to go to church. That would contradict His nature and character. In fact He wants you to be the church replicating His holiness.

Now some will say that gold is found in our blood and there is gold and silver in Jesus blood. This explanation is what they call ‘discernment.’ There are even some saying that gold and/or silver is a sign of redemption. That is blasphemy. God says Proverbs 16:16 How much better to get wisdom than gold, to get insight rather than silver! Proverbs 8:10

Receive my instruction instead of silver, and knowledge rather than pure gold. Even God’s wisdom doesn’t equate with gold and silver Jobe 28:14The ocean depths say, ‘It is not in me,’ while the sea declares, ‘It is not with me.’ 15It cannot be purchased for gold, nor its price weighed out in silver. 16It cannot be valued in the gold of Ophir, in precious onyx or sapphire. ..so if you see silver and gold trying to lure you in, don’t believe it. Don’t believe in what it leads you to believe.

Those who truly know God know that His Word and His Wisdom is worth more than any silver and gold. Yet people are lured into buying into what it represents and flatly reject the Word of God. And through additions to the Word which they call discernment, they mislead many to darkness which leads to death. Lord, please show these people the error in their understanding of you.You are a refiners fire. Do your word: Malachi 2:3-4″But who can endure the day of His coming? And who can stand when He appears? He is like a refiner’s fire and like fullers’ soap. “He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the LORD offerings in righteousness. “Then the offering of Judah and Jerusalem will be pleasing to the LORD as in the days of old and as in former years.
